Born on 10th September 1963 in a place he prefers to forget. After a few fruitless years at university, hid for a while in a village in Galicia, and then in the mountains of Gavarres. This eye-opening experience made him realise that he was able to live anywhere. Since then, he has done nothing but reading, watching movies, wasting time and making a fool of himself.
He has published the following books:
Un silenci sec [A Dry Silence] (1991),
Era un secret [It was a Secret] (1998) and
Àlbum Galmei [Galmei Album] (2002), and translated into Catalan
Soldats de Salamina [Soldiers of Salamina], by Javier Cercas. He has been issuing a weekly critical review in the Catalan paper
El Punt, since 1994, and the Spanish paper
El País, since 1998.
